Butler County Animal Shelter sees massive success during adoption event in Beaver Dam
MORGANTOWN, Ky. – The Butler County Animal Shelter recently held a successful adoption event to help find forever homes for some of their pets.
The event was held at the Tractor Supply in Beaver Dam, and from open to close, they saw every dog that they brought get adopted.
The shelter had been dealing with full capacity, but this event not only helped find new homes, but also made it a lot easier for the staff.
Events like these are a way for the community to help out.
“If we don’t let the community know what state the shelter’s in, then how are they going to be able to help? That means everything, transparency and just letting people know that these are things that we have to deal with,” director Ruby Fooks says.
The shelter has one message for the community that came out to support.
“We are just so grateful for all the adopters, all the fosters, everyone that came by and adopted or fostered, you guys saved lives and we wouldn’t have been able to do it without you,” Fooks says.
The shelter partners with Greater Goods Charities for a pet food distribution on Saturdays, so you can stop by the shelter on Boat Factory Road in Morgantown to learn more about how you can help.
