BUTLER COUNTY, Ky. – The Butler County Animal Shelter is pleading with the community to adopt as it has crossed into a code red.

Right now, the shelter says this involves placing dogs in outside kennels due to capacity. In addition, the shelter says it got another stray and five puppies on Monday.

With incoming frigid temperatures starting this weekend, the shelter says it is working to make room inside. However, rescuers say there is only so much space available.

Whether considering adopting or fostering, the shelter can be reached at 270-526-2694 or by heading to its address at 463 Boat Factory Road in Morgantown.
