Burning regulations placed back into effect

WARREN COUNTY, Ky. – Warren County Emergency Management along with the Bowling Green Police and Fire Departments are asking all people who plan to have a controlled burn to let them know ahead of time by getting a permit.

This time of year sees many people doing some pre-winter yard maintenance which often times produces the natural materials that are approved for burning by the department but they ask for them to be permitted and controlled both for safety and so the fire department knows what is going on in their area of operations.

Casey Archey from the WCEM says that people living in the city should call BGFD and due to shared use of their call center, people living in outside of the city should call BGPD for a permit.

“We want to we want to make sure that you’re notifying dispatch, requesting that burn permit. We want to make sure that you have a source of extinguishment, ideally a fire hose and check the weather. Those are the big, big three things that we try to try to ask the public. Does,” Archey said.
