UPDATE: Burn ban issued for Metcalfe County

EDMONTON, Ky. – A burn ban has been issued for all of Metcalfe County.

According to an executive order, a city-wide burn ban has been issued due to drought conditions.

Metcalfe County judge-executive signed the order on Monday, Aug. 25.

This ban is effective immediately, including bans on all open burning. Officials say this also includes lightning fireworks and burning any material outdoors.

The executive order states violations of the ban can result in fines or punishment. This ban will be lifted by a separate order.
