Brownsville man arrested after being suspected of entering homes with firearm

BROWNSVILLE, Ky. – On Sunday, Edmonson County dispatch received multiple calls referencing a man walking in and out of people’s properties with a gun while talking incoherently on Morgantown Road, according to a release.

While Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office was on the way, they received an additional call from dispatch stating Kevin Sanders, 34, of Brownsville had walked into a home carrying a lever-action rifle.

The caller was able to get Sanders out of the residence.

As Edmonson County Sheriff’s Office deputies patrolled the area, dispatch received another call stating Sanders was walking down the middle of Honey Creek Road.

Deputies located Sanders, as well as several deceased animals in the bed of Sanders’ truck, which he did not have a hunting license for or permission to hunt on land for where the animals were shot.

Sanders was arrested and charged with public intoxication – controlled substance (excludes alcohol), resisting arrest, fleeing or evading police, second degree (on foot), first-degree wanton endangerment (police officer), entry on land to shoot, hunt, fish or trap without consent, first offense and illegal taking of wildlife.

Sanders was lodged in Hart County Jail.
