UPDATE: Smyrna police apprehend suspect after barricade situation

SMYRNA, Tenn. – A suspect is reportedly in custody following a barricade situation in Smyrna, Tennessee on Tuesday.

The Smyrna Police Department initially reported an active shooter Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., the department confirmed the incident was unfolding near Lee Victory Parkway at Legacy Wine and Spirits, leading to multiple road blocks in the area.

Later that day, police said the incident was no longer an active shooter situation but confirmed a barricade situation was ongoing.

Police say the suspect was apprehended without incident and is now in custody. All roads are reopened.

The investigation is ongoing.
