BREAKING: Bowling Green City Schools closed Monday and Tuesday

BOWLING GREEN, KY: Bowling Green Independent School District announces that classes are canceled on Monday, Dec. 13 and Tuesday, Dec. 14. School officials say staff will spend the next two days working to meet the needs of BGISD students. Officials also want parents to know that they will receive a call from school staff, but it will likely come from a number that is not recognized since the phone lines are down in the school system.

Elementary schools will be open each day from 10:00am-1:00pm on Monday and Tuesday. Lunch will be provided, nurses will be able to assist with medical needs and counselors will also be available to students.

School officials are also offering an opportunity to pick up food at Bowling Green High School from 10:00am-1:00pm on Monday and Tuesday. The school system is currently assessing bus routes and is hoping to be able to transport food to students as soon as possible.

School officials also say that if you would like to donate items to the district, please drop them off at Bowling Green Junior High Monday and Tuesday from 9:00am-4:00pm. A list of items needed is below.
