(UPDATED) Barren County Sheriff’s deputy shot overnight
The deputy suffered non-life threatening injuries

Kentucky State Police say the incident occurred at 1:37 a.m. Saturday.
According to police, the incident happened when Glasgow police officer, Zane Greer, and Barren County Sheriff’s Office deputy, Joseph Ford, were in the process of arresting Jonathan D. Shelton, 37, of Smyrna, Tenn. after a vehicle pursuit.
Authorities say an altercation occurred and Ford was shot.
Ford was transported to TJ Samson Community Hospital and later taken to University of Louisville Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Shelton has been charged with first-degree assault on a police officer, third-degree assault on a police officer and three counts of first-degree wanton endangerment on a police officer. Several traffic related charges were also issued by Glasgow police.
GLASGOW, Ky.- Kentucky State Police troopers are investigating the shooting of a Barren County Sheriff’s deputy.
According to authorities, the incident occurred during a vehicle pursuit on South Green Street in Glasgow.
Sources tell WNKY the deputy, whose name has not yet been released, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
