BRAWA raises funds through inaugural chili dinner
GLASGOW, Ky. – It’s a case of dinner going to the dogs, and cats.
The calendar still shows winter and the Barren River Animal Welfare Association (BRAWA) took advantage of the season to raise money for their animal shelter in Glasgow.
From traditional chili to white chili with chicken and black beans, there was plenty of variety to appeal to almost any taste. There was also a dessert table to end dinner on a sweet note. And, who could resist visiting with the dogs and cats during dinner? Although the adoption center was closed for the day, donors were still able to visit with the dogs and cats available for adoption.
While it may have been the first year BRAWA served chili to benefit the dogs and cats needing a home, it is one of a list of events the shelter holds throughout the year to raise funds to meet the financial needs to keep the shelter in operation.
