BRAWA offering $10 microchipping throughout July
GLASGOW, Ky. – The Barren River Animal Welfare Association is providing $10 microchipping all throughout July in partnership with 24 Hour Pet Watch, which provides the system to the shelter.
Staff with BRAWA say it’s incredibly important to get microchips in your pets. They stress after holidays like the Fourth of July where they can easily run off after being spooked by fireworks or other loud noises that it’s a great time to consider tagging them.
“Pets wander off and you can’t find them… if they’re not properly tagged, you can put a collar on them all day long, but people can take the collar off, or they can lose their collar… and this time of year with fireworks especially, animals get really scared and they take off and they get disoriented of where they’re at,” general manager Connie Greer said. “Sometimes they can’t make it home… microchipping is very important to get them home.”
All the microchips through the system are registered, and the info is kept up to date with current addresses as well.
Again, that deal runs through the end of July.
