Brainstorming with Jim Cantore at SKyPAC

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – At the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center on Monday, the community got to learn a little more about severe weather from a man who’s been covering it on a national scale for over 30 years.

Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel made an appearance in Bowling Green, but not for any severe weather.

He gave a presentation on his career with the Weather Channel, including some of the storms he’s covered in the past.

He also showcased a project he’s been working on with a senior from the University of North Carolina Charlotte, analyzing weather trends here in Kentucky.

One attendee explains why she was excited to see Jim here in Bowling Green.

“He brings it home. Even though he’s national… he’s out of Atlanta… I think it just brings it closer to home. He really cares about everybody… wherever the bad weather is,” Teresa Smith says.
