BRADD introduces interactive interface relating to potential hazards

BOWLING GREEN Ky.-The Barren River Area Development District has recently unveiled an interactive resource for the region.

The interactive interface web portal gives anyone the option to scroll through a list of potential hazards and what areas those hazards are located. The regional multi-hazard mitigation plan is a federal requirement that is due every five years.

BRADD needed to update the mitigation plan by 2022, while the comprehensive economic development strategy also needed an update the same year. This interactive map fills both of those roles.

The interactive map is in place of in-person meetings that cannot take place due to coronavirus restrictions. Two representatives from BRADD say this interactive map is the best of both worlds.

New features will come in the next few weeks, including an interactive mapping portal where residents can mark areas of concern.
