BRACAC holds luncheon to thank volunteers and major donors

Bowling Green, Ky. – This weekend marks the 9th year of Over the Edge for Barren River Child Advocacy Center.

The numbers are in, and they have raised over $170,000 this year, blowing their original goal of $125,000 out of the water. 

This makes a total of 1.2 million dollars raised since the very first Over the Edge was held.

Friday, BRACAC and the Medical Center partnered to host a luncheon to celebrate and thank the people who have spent so much time and energy selflessly putting together this event and raising money for it. 

“It takes all of us as a community to come together with Barren River Area Advocacy Center to provide those healing services and move the needle forward for those children so that they’re not defined by the trauma that they have endured, and instead, they have hope. So, it just really filled my heart to see this room full, packed full of people who took time out of their schedules to be here because they care for the children that we serve at Barren River Area Advocacy Center,” said Tracy Young, the co-chair of the Over the Edge event and Board Member for BRACAC.

Warren County Public Schools representatives raised a record-breaking $16,000 this year. 

Locals who raised at least $1000 will be going over the edge of the parking structure downtown Saturday as a way to show support for child victims of sexual abuse.
