Boys & Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County operating in temporary location

GLASGOW Ky. – The Boys & Girls Club of Glasgow-Barren County is currently in between locations.

It is temporarily located at the First United Methodist Church in Glasgow. There were lease use issues at their former location, which necessitated the move, however, their permanent and purpose-built location will be ready soon.

Unit director Kenisha Franklin says that they hit the ground running at the church as if nothing changed, though that was not without its own challenges, at least initially.

“We was worried last week, because we didn’t know if kids was getting fed, getting their homework completed. This week, every kid lived left here with a full belly of food and homework got completed and the kids are back with their friends,” Franklin said.

The finishing touches are being put on their new facility at the former New Farmers National Bank building, and they will soon begin to use it. It is an exciting time for the group.
