Boy receives honor from Barren County sheriff for heroic act

GLASGOW, Ky. – A Barren County boy was honored for his response to an emergency.

Barren County Sheriff Kent Keen awarded Archer Wilson, 11, with the Meritorious Service Award on December 27, 2024.

Wilson and his family were involved in an automobile accident on August 31, 2024. His quick action to alert authorities allowed his family to receive essential treatment.

The awards were presented by Sheriff Keen on behalf of the Barren Metcalfe EMS and the Barren Metcalfe Emergency Communications Center.
