Boxwood house up for sale

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A local home that has stood the test of time is now being sold once again.

The Boxwood house on State Street is one of the only remnants of Bowling Green remaining from the Civil War era.

The home was originally owned by the family of founding father Robert Moore before it was passed down through many others.

Now, 22 years after it was last bought, it will be sold once again.

There will be a tour of the home on July 22, and it means a lot to a local realtor who’s in possession of the house.

“I think this is a wonderful opportunity. We’ve had some parties here through the years doing different fundraisers for different organizations because Dr. Skaggs, the late owner, was a big believer in doing what he could to support the community. This is another way that we can do this by not only sharing the house, but supporting the Landmark Association with the very important work that they do to help preserve the heritage of our town,” Chad Smith, a Coldwell Banker realtor says.

The tour takes place from 1-4 on the 22nd. Adult admission is $15, while children’s is $9.
