BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green woman is behind bars after allegedly fleeing police in a vehicle on Wednesday.

According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department observed a vehicle disregard a stop sign at the intersection of Glen Lily Road and Stubbins Street.

Authorities say they initiated a traffic stop, however, the vehicle failed to stop.

As the officer got closer to the vehicle, the citation states the vehicle drove away at a high rate of speed.

The vehicle again disregarded a stop sign and continued traveling at a high speed, authorities say.

Police say they disengaged from the pursuit at the intersection of Plain Avenue and Madison Street. At that time, authorities say they lost sight of the vehicle.

Police say they later responded to a residence on Russellville Road, where they say they found the vehicle that had been involved in the pursuit.

Kieffer was located and placed into custody.

Police say she stated she did not flee from police with her vehicle, however, she later stated she did not stop because she was afraid she may have a probation violation warrant.

In addition, authorities say an individual at the residence stated Kieffer had walked into the home and stated she “just ran from the police.”

Kieffer was transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.

She faces charges of first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), reckless driving, disregarding a stop sign, no operators-moped license and failure to or improper signal.
