Bowling Green woman charged with DUI with child in vehicle

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green woman is facing several charges related to driving under the influence.

According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police Post 3 received a call Monday around 3 p.m. regarding a subject drinking a beer while driving.

Troopers say the driver, identified as Cherry Shwe, 35 of Bowling Green, was reported to be “swerving all over the roadway” and almost causing multiple accidents.

When the trooper turned on their lights and sirens behind Shwe on Plano Road, authorities say Shwe continued driving.

The citation says she almost struck several vehicles during this time.

Shwe stopped on a portion of Plano Road and was removed from the vehicle. Troopers say they detected the strong presence of alcohol from the driver and vehicle.

Inside the vehicle, troopers say they found two cans of Bud Ice beer, with one still containing fresh beer.

Shwe also had a juvenile in the back seat without a seat belt on, according to the citation.

Shwe was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for medical evaluation due to her breath test reading at .306, authorities say.

Shwe was arrested and is charged with first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment, endangering the welfare of a minor, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense and failure to wear seat belts.

She was transported to the Warren County Detention Center and has since been released.
