Bowling Green woman charged after attempting to use ‘movie money’
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green woman is facing charges in relation to an incident involving movie money.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded Tuesday around 2:10 p.m. to Family Dollar on Glen Lily Road.
Officers say they received a report of a female subject attempting to pass motion picture $100 bills to get loaded onto a CashApp card for real money.
Police say the female, later identified as 50-year-old Ann Jones of Bowling Green, was unsuccessful.
Officer say they located the vehicle Jones was traveling in and conducted a traffic stop. During this time, authorities say they observed the fake bills from her purse and had probable cause for a search.
Authorities say they found 40 more motion picture bills in the car and and in her possession.
Jones was placed into custody. She remains at the Warren County Regional Jail with 50 counts of second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, five counts of attempted theft by deception – include cold checks between $500 and $1,000 and one count of operating on a suspended or revoked operators license.
