Bowling Green wins 26 tourism awards from Kentucky Travel Industry Association
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The City of Bowling Green brought home 26 awards from the Kentucky Travel Industry Association’s yearly awards ceremony this past week.
Downtown BGKY won 10 Destination Marketing awards for the Duncan Hines Days celebration.
The Bowling Green Area CVB, National Corvette Museum and the Historic RailPark also brought up wins from this event.
For the city, it’s a great sign of the future of local tourism.
“Bowling Green has never won this many awards overall as a destination. Bowling Green’s never had this many representatives at this event in years past. It’s really great for us being the third largest city in Kentucky and the fastest growing city in Kentucky. We’re finally living up to the name. We are showing up and showing up very hard,” Telia Butler, downtown development coordinator for Downtown BGKY, says.
The KTIA has over 600 members throughout the state, and only the top 18% of entries won awards.
