Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport awarded $7 million grant

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- The U.S. Department of Transportation is awarding a $7 million grant to the Bowling Green-Warren County Airport.

The announcement was made Wednesday by Rep. Brett Guthrie’s office.

Guthrie said the grant will go toward rehabilitating Taxiway Alpha, which serves the primary runway and will make it easier for aircraft to taxi around the airport.

Interim airport manager of the Bowling Green-Warren County Regional Airport Susan Harmon said she’s excited to see project Taxiway Alpha come together.

“We’re excited, especially the pilots. I think they’re really be excited when they go on Taxiway Alpha for the first time. It’s been several years coming,” Harmon said.

Taxiway Alpha will be an $8 million project. The rest of the funding is coming from the City, County and State.
