BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce is celebrating after the Bowling Green/Warren County metro area ranked among the top three U.S. metro areas for total project announcement in Site Selection magazine’s 2025 Governor’s Cup.
According to a release by the chamber on Tuesday, the area has 16 qualifying announcement and placed sixth in projects-per-capita.
This is the third consecutive year the metro area has finished in the top three for that category, the chamber says.
According to the chamber, the south-central region of Kentucky placed second for projects per capita and third for total projects in Site Selection’s 2025 rankings, with 128 statewide announcements meeting the magazine’s criteria.
Franklin and Glasgow also tired for ninth among top micropolitan, the chamber says.
Overall, Kentucky placed in the top five nationally for economic development projects per capita.
Warren County judge executive Doug Gorman stated, “Our continued national recognition is a testament to the power of teamwork in Warren County and the strategic partnerships that drive our economy. While we celebrate our own success, we are equally proud to congratulate our regional partners in Franklin and Glasgow for their outstanding national rankings this year. Their growth strengthens the entire 10-county BRADD region, proving that when South Central Kentucky works together, we don’t just compete, we lead the nation.”
Bowling Green mayor Todd Alcott stated, “Bowling Green’s continued national success is a true ‘American Story,’ but it’s a story we share with our neighbors. I want to congratulate Franklin and Glasgow on their incredible rankings this year. When our regional partners win, all of South-Central Kentucky wins.”
Meredith Wilson, interim president and CEO of the Bowling Green Area Chamber of Commerce, said, “Regional coordination and a business friendly climate are driving results. We’re proud to support employers as they expand and locate here, and we’ll keep working to ensure Bowling Green and south-central Kentucky remain competitive and welcoming to investment.”
The chamber says the rankings reinforce the metro area’s “position as a flourishing center for business growth in Kentucky and the broader south-central region.”
