Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society in need of supplies and donations

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society is asking for help to care for its animals.

The shelter says they are in need of cat litter, along with both dry and canned cat food.

They’re also completely out of puppy formula, which they need to keep their youngest residents nourished.

While the shelter still has several needs, officials say they’re also seeing a normal seasonal trend begin to take shape, a positive sign heading into the fall.

“Cat intakes are starting to decrease a little bit, which we tend to see later on in the year. We’re able to help some other shelters when that happens. We’re still at max capacity with large dogs, and that has been the case, honestly, for every shelter around us, any shelter in the country, there’s just a large dog crisis going on right now,” Lorri Hare, the director of the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society, says.

Through events like Clear the Shelters, the Adopt-a-thon and the upcoming Paws event with Montana Grille, the Humane Society is grateful for the support of the community.

“If we did not have the supporters and the adopters that we have, it doesn’t really matter how hard we work, because we can’t take them all home. So we want to extend a huge, heartfelt thank you for every single person that does this throughout the year… and we’re very, very blessed. We’re very, very blessed,” Hare says.
