Bowling Green Starbucks’ choose six nonprofits for $12,000 in grants
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Tuesday, the Bowling Green Starbucks on Scottsville Road hosted their Community and Coffee event to celebrate grant money going toward nonprofits
The grants come from the Starbucks Foundation, that is giving over $2,ooo,ooo in grants nationwide that support community involvement.
In April, every national corporate Starbucks partner had the chance to nominate local non profits that they had either partnered with for a project or felt passionate about. The three Bowling Green company operated stores used this platform to award six local non profits for a total of $12,000.
Those nonprofits include BRASS Inc., Hotel Inc., Community Education Bowling Green-Warren County, Hope Harbor, Habitat for Humanity and Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky.
Scottsville Road’s Store Manager Maria Jones said watching these companies she’s partnered with receive this money makes her smile ear to ear.
“Knowing the impact that some of these organizations had due to Covid and coming out of Covid, it was really good to be able to just gift back. And it’s right here in our hometown,” said Jones.
Friday the Bowling Green Starbucks locations will deliver cake pops, coloring sheets and crayons in the community to kids in need.
