Bowling Green Slim Chickens donate 20 percent of day’s sales to nonprofit

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – All day Thursday, the new Slim Chickens on Scottsville Road will donate 20 percent of their sales to House on the Hill. House on the Hill is a Bowling Green-based nonprofit that works to feed the hungry.

Slim Chickens Assistant Manager Katie Elliot says partnering with the nonprofit was a privilege.

“It really means a lot for us to be able to give back to our community,” Elliot said. “Our community’s been really good to us. We’ve been super busy for the past month since we’ve been open. So, this is just our way of giving back.”

House on the Hill’s Beth Wheeler says having businesses in the community partner to help out the cause is a true blessing.

“It’s amazing, Wheeler said. “They’ve been so great all along. They’ve had us out for several different events, and we really appreciate Houchens and Slim Chickens for doing that. We need more community partners, and we love that they’re giving back to the community and just really helping promote nonprofits in our area.”
