Bowling Green set to have largest Christmas parade yet

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The excitement continues to build for the Christmas parades all over South Central Kentucky.

Even though the Bowling Green parade was rescheduled, the city is expecting to deliver its largest one yet.

Plus, there are many things to look forward to this year.

The annual Bowling Green Jaycees Christmas parade was originally set for Saturday, Dec. 1.

However, it was rescheduled to Sunday at 2 p.m.

There will be roughly 150 float entries, bands and even Santa Clause will make an appearance.

The Grand Marshall for the parade is Shi’Ann Jones, who competed on The Voice.

The Miracle on College Street 1-Mile Fun Run is slated for 1:30 p.m. on Sunday.

The theme for this year’s parade is “Home for Christmas.”

We had a chance to speak to Mary-John Carmon, one of the Chairman on the BG parade committee.

She tells us she has gone to the parade since she was 3-years-old.

After chairing for 26 years, her excitement for the local Christmas parade still remains.

The Glasgow-Barren County parade is set to begin at 6 p.m. leaving from the high school on Sunday.

The parade in Horse Cave starts at 10 a.m. and Munfordville’s will be at 1 p.m., both on Saturday.

Finally, Morgantown’s “Story Book Christmas Parade” begins at 3 p.m. on Sunday.
