Bowling Green Rotary Club holds speech oratorical competition

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. -Wednesday afternoon, the Bowling Green chapter of the Rotary Club held their annual speech oratorical competition.

The competition has been held for more than 20 years. 62 chapters hold local competitions, which eventually narrow down to regional competitions and then finals. This year, the final debate competition will be held in Bowling Green.

One participant who hopes to make it back to the finals is today’s local winner, Braedon Price, a Senior at South  Warren High School.

Price has won the state title twice before and has competed a total of three times. This year, he will be making his fourth run at a state title, and said part of his motivation stems from the work he sees done by the Rotary Club. Price has already been accepted at Harvard University and says he plans on studying environmental science and government. He also says law school might be in his future.

Maya Ganesh, a sophomore at Bowling Green High School placed as the runner-up.
