Bowling Green road to close through summer for reconstruction

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The City of Bowling Green announced a multiple-month road closure on Wednesday.

The city says Freeport Road will close to through traffic on Thursday, March 13, for reconstruction and improvements. The closure is expected to last until the project is completed. The city expects the project to be finished by July 2025.

Detour signs will be posted to guide traffic.

The city says that homes before the closure will remain accessible via 31W/Louisville Road. Homes beyond the closure will be accessible by Oakland Road.

Officials encourage motorists to remain patient and drive safely.
