Bowling Green Remembers Beloved Community Member
Bowling Green, Ky – Early this week, Bowling Green lost a pillar of their community. Danny Carothers wore many hats as a community member. He was known as a coach, a volunteer, and a program director.
But a man who has done so much never wanted the recognition that he earned. Instead, his goal in life was to just spread as much love as he possibly could.
“Danny was the picture of love. I mean, it did not matter who you were, how old you are, what you were involved in. He showed you love and his love extended it from our kids to our elderly and disabled. And he. His actions showed love. Everything about Danny showed love” said Bowling Green Housing Authority Executive Director Katie Miller.
Danny Constant went out of his way to make sure everybody had what they needed. At the foundry, he helped shape young minds, calling the preschoolers there his babies and treating them as if they were one of his own grandchildren
“One of the favorite memories that came up this morning was when we do our preschool prom in the spring. For several years, he would bring a limo and he would load up all the kids who were dressed up and he would take them around and make them feel like $1,000,000. And he just had that gift that when he talked to you, you knew that you were loved” said Shawna Wood, The Foundry’s Executive Director.
Danny was a unique man who set examples for both young and old, a man who spread nothing but joy and happiness to everybody he met a man whose legacy, even in death, will be remembered for generations.
