Bowling Green police warn about latest scam call

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Police Department is warning the community about another scam.
According to BPGD, a scam call is using a Bowling Green officer’s name to attempt to gain funds.
Police say the scammer will call and say you have missed jury duty and that there is a warrant for their arrest.
In order to avoid arrest, the scammer will then ask for a fee over the phone.
Police say they will not call you and ask for money over the phone. If you need to validate the identity of an officer, BGPD ask citizens to contact its non-emergency line at 270-393-4000.
