Bowling Green police share driving safety advice for Memorial Day weekend traffic

SOUTH-CENTRAL KENTUCKY- Memorial Day is right around the corner, and so is the traffic that comes with this holiday.

This year, the chance for rain is high, and everyone wants to get to their vacation destination. It’s important to be courteous with other drivers on the road.

Officer Ronnie Ward of the Bowling Green Police Department shares some tips on what you need to pack on these slick roads.

Ward says, “The largest thing that you can put in your suitcase to take with you is maybe a big bucket of patience, because the traffic is going to be bad. You know, it’s going to be bad. And if we’re just patient with each other, that could help everyone arrive at their destination safely.”

Law enforcement also wants to encourage everyone not to drive under the influence and everyone should plan ahead of time. Without preparation, this can affect innocent people around you.
