BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – National School Bus Safety Week is coming to a close, but that doesn’t mean you should forget about driving safely.
The Bowling Green Police Department is reminding drivers how they can do their part to keep local children safe as they enter and exit a school bus.
Bowling Green police say everyone should slow down, stay alert and stop for school buses.
In addition, police are sharing the following reminders:
- Stop when the bus extends its stop arm and red lights are flashing
- Never pass a stopped school bus from either direction on an undivided road.
- Stay alert in school zones and neighborhoods.
- Talk with your kids about safe behavior while waiting for and riding the bus.
