Bowling Green Police Department to conduct traffic safety checkpoints

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – The Bowling Green Police Department is conducting traffic safety checkpoints on Friday, Jan. 2.

The department says the checkpoints will be done from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.

During this time, officers will operate checkpoints at one location before moving to others throughout the evening. Police say this is to ensure the safety of drivers and to verify compliance with traffic laws and prevent impaired driving.

The checkpoints will take place at  the following locations, according to police:

• 5600 block of Scottsville Road
• 3000 block of Louisville Road
• 1700 block of Scottsville Road
• 700 block of Lovers Lane

Drivers are reminded to have their license, registration and proof of insurance readily available when approaching a checkpoint.
