Bowling Green Police Department gives tips after alleged threat at Bowling Green High School

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Many parents may be worried about a potential threat at Bowling Green High School.

Local law enforcement says that threat is being taken seriously and they’re working with the school district to keep everyone safe.

The school district says they received calls and reports through the Safe Schools Tip Line and immediately contacted the Bowling Green Police Department.

BGPD says to remain calm and stay aware.

“You just need to be aware of your surroundings … and the other thing is, don’t take this stuff that people say and brush it off and say, ‘Oh, that’s not going to happen here’ or ‘That would never happen to me.’ It’s very easy to stand up and say something about that,” Ronnie Ward, public information officer at BGPD, says.

BGPD also say the threat did involve a weapon, but it is still under investigation.
