Bowling Green Out of the Darkness Walk to take place this Sunday
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- This month is Suicide Awareness Month, a time to understand the impact of suicidal thoughts on individuals and their loved ones.
For over a decade, the Bowling Green Out of the Darkness Walk has played a crucial role in raising awareness about suicide and its effects. This year, the event continues to make strides, with more than 250 participants already registered to join the cause.
Katelyn Simpson, chair for the BG Out of the Darkness Walk, expressed her hope that the event fosters hope and empowerment, noting that it provides a platform for meaningful conversations with family and friends.
“Really hope that people have hope and that this is something that we know we can prevent,” Simpson said. “So I feel like going into the walk, even if you’ve lost someone or struggled yourself, it empowers you to go back and have those conversations.”
Registration will take place this Sunday at 1 p.m. with the program starting at 2 p.m., offering a chance for the community to unite and make a difference.
