Bowling Green Mayoral candidates answered questions at forum
BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – With the election about three weeks away, Bowling Green residents are paying attention to more than just the race for the White House. The race for Bowling Green’s Mayor has begun to heat up as well.
This years candidates are incumbent Todd Alcott, who has been in office since 2021, and former Kentucky State Congresswoman Patti Minter. Bowling Green Junior High School is holding a public forum for the community to familiarize themselves with these candidates ahead of election day.
Many topics were discussed, among them, traffic concerns, the lack of housing and housing costs, and the lack of a fairness ordinance for the city of Bowling Green. Both candidates started off strong with opening statements to begin the night.
“Good evening. I’m Patti Minter and I’m running for mayor because our city deserves leadership that actually listens to us,” Minter said.
“If you’re out there, you’re wondering which candidate to choose. I’m going to just ask you to listen to everything you hear tonight and take it inside and make that informed choice,” said Alcott as he closed out the opening arguments.
Both touted the importance of voting as well, imploring the audience and anyone watching to get out and vote. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 5.
