Bowling Green man stopped at checkpoint, K9 officer locates suspected drugs

LONDON, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing drug charges after stopping at a traffic safety checkpoint.

The London County Sheriff’s Office says it made contact with Dennis Addison, 47 of Bowling Green, at a traffic safety checkpoint on Wednesday evening.

Deputies say that during contact with Addison, he deleted the GPS coordinates when asked to provide them to deputies. Addison did not consent to a search.

According to an arrest citation, a K9 officer received a positive alert and several tablets, suspected to be illegal, were located.

Addison was taken into custody and is lodged at the Laurel County Jail.

Addison is charged with operating a vehicle with an expired operator’s license, failure to wear seat belts, failure to produce an insurance card, rear license not illuminated, 1st-degree possession of a controlled substance (1st offense, Hydrocodone), prescription controlled substance not properly contained (1st offense), failure to or improper signal, improper equipment, and 1st-degree possession of a controlled substance (2nd offense, drug unspecified).
