BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A man accused of stealing a vehicle led police on a multi-county chase on Saturday.

Kentucky State Police Post 3 says it received a call from the Warren County Sheriff’s Office to a report of a stolen vehicle. Troopers say a complainant said the vehicle was stolen from Kattawar Circle in Bowling Green and drove north on Louisville Road.

According to a uniform citation, the complainant told police the man was white, had blood on his face and was carrying a cane.

The vehicle was observed at the intersection of Highway 101 and 31-W Bypass. Troopers say the suspect matched the description provided by the complainant, and the vehicle was confirmed to be the stolen vehicle.

Troopers stopped the vehicle and commanded the suspect to exit the vehicle. The suspect then drove the vehicle away from the stop at a high rate of speed on Highway 101 going into Edmonson County, the citation says. Troopers say the suspect was traveling at 105 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone.

The citation says vehicle passed and almost hit several vehicles, disregarding stop signs and failing to use turn signals. Troopers say the suspect then turned off Highway 101 onto Highway 3019 before turning onto Highway 259. The pursuit continued through the city limits of Brownsville, almost striking vehicles.

The suspect continued onto Kentucky Route 70 and then turned onto Kentucky Route 187, crossing into Grayson County.

Troopers say they attempted pit maneuvers on the vehicle. The second pit maneuver resulted in the vehicle exiting the roadway and into a ditch, where it flipped and struck a parked vehicle at a residence on Shrewsbury Road. The vehicle rested on its driver’s side and had sustained significant damage.

The driver of the stolen vehicle, Nathan Constant, 37, of Bowling Green, was taken to a Leitchfield hospital before being flown to the University of Louisville Hospital. Constant was cleared to be transported to the Grayson County Detention Center.

Constant is charged with reckless driving, receiving stolen property $10,000 or more, first-degree fleeing or evading police, first-degree wanton endangerment of a police officer, first-degree criminal mischief, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance, operating on a suspended license or revoked operator’s license, failure to wear a seat belt and speeding over 26 mph over the limit.
