BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man has been found guilty of possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.

According to Commonwealth’s Attorney Kori Beck Bumgarner, Jesse Mitchell, 36, of Bowling Green was found guilty by a Warren County jury on Thursday.

This follows evidence from an investigation presented by the Bowling Green Police Department, officials say.

According to a uniform citation, BGPD officers responded in October of 2022 to Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary in reference to a report of a weapon in a child’s home.

Police say Mitchell was found to be in violation due to the presence of the weapon in the home.

Sentencing is scheduled for April 15, 2025 in Warren Circuit Court, Division 5.
