CADIZ, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is charged with drug trafficking following a traffic stop in Trigg County.

According to a uniform citation by the Trigg County Sheriff’s Office, deputies conducted a traffic stop on Canton Road Thursday for a vehicle with only one taillight illuminated.

Deputies say the driver was identified as 43-year-old William Anderson of Bowling Green. Authorities say Anderson had expired registration and told Anderson they would issue a warning for his traffic violations.

Deputies say after receiving permission for a vehicle search, they discovered a bag containing suspected methamphetamine, a digital scale, syringes, a glass smoking pipe and other drug paraphernalia.

Anderson was detained. Authorities say they later found just over $5,200 in the vehicle.

While speaking to Anderson, deputies say he stated he was “taken to the vehicle” in Bowling Green and given an address in Murray to drop off a bag in exchange for cash. Authorities say Anderson stated this occurred, and he was aware it was a drug deal and had done this before.

Authorities say Anderson stated he had used some of the suspected methamphetamine earlier that evening from the black bag located by the deputy.

Anderson was later transported to the Christian County Detention Center.

Anderson faces charges of one headlight, first-degree trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (greater than or equal to 2 grams of methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia – deliver/manufacture.
