BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing charges after police say he drove while intoxicated during a collision.
According to a uniform citation, the Bowling Green Police Department responded Friday around 8:43 p.m. to Westen Street and Christian Way for an injury collision.
Upon arrival, officers say two vehicles had major damage and airbags deployed.
Police say they made contact with Ryan Franklin, 52, of Bowling Green as he was sitting outside of a vehicle.
According to police, Franklin smelled of an alcoholic beverage and was slurring his speech.
Police say during a preliminary breath test, Franklin tested at .115.
Franklin was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green for medical clearance.
Authorities say the passenger of the other car sustained a broken left femur and a left dislocated knee.
Police say Franklin “wantonly engaged in conduct that created a substantial danger of death or serious physical injury to the occupants of the other vehicle.”
Franklin was arrested and transported to the Warren County Regional Jail.
He faces charges of first-degree wanton endangerment, first-degree criminal mischief and operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol, first offense.
