Bowling Green man arrested, suspect in Ohio murder

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is a suspect in a fatal shooting in Ohio.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office (Ohio) responded to a shots-fired complaint at 312 East 7th Street in Manchester, Ohio, at approximately 4:42 AM (EDT) on January 26.

Deputies say they located a victim with fatal injuries. The victim is identified as James D. Land, 47.

Witnesses say they saw a vehicle flee the area where the shots were fired and identified that suspect as Jason Strain, 43 of Bowling Green.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office contacted the Ohio State Highway Patrol Intel to view traffic cameras. It was determined that Strain traveled to Bowling Green.

The Bowling Green Police Department conducted a traffic stop on the suspected vehicle at approximately 9:28 am in Bowling Green.

The officers identified Strain as the driver. Strain was taken into custody without further incident.

Strain is facing charges in Adams County, Ohio, and Warren County. He is lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to WNKY News 40 that Strain is charged with murder.

The investigation is ongoing.
