Bowling Green man arrested on manslaughter charge after fatal overdose

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man has been arrested in connection with a fatal overdose, police say.

According to an arrest report, on Feb. 14, Bowling Green police responded to the 4500 block of Wal Valley Way for a death investigation.

The report further states the caller went to check on his grandson, Junius Carpenter, and found him dead.

After months of investigation, Khai Lian, 20, of Bowling Green was arrested on Monday, May 15.

Lian has been wanted by police since February in connection with fentanyl trafficking, police say. He faces charges of second-degree manslaughter and trafficking in a controlled substance, first offense (carfentanil or fentanyl derivatives).

Lian remains in the Warren County Detention Center on a cash bond of $100,025.

His arraignment is scheduled for May 22.
