Bowling Green man arrested following motorbike pursuit

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is charged in connection with a pursuit on Wednesday.

According to a uniform citation, the Kentucky State Police measured 28-year-old Ryan Quinn of Bowling Green traveling 20 miles over the speed limit in a work zone on Morgantown Road on Wednesday afternoon.

Troopers say Quinn was operating a motorbike at the time.

When a trooper attempted to catch up with Quinn, authorities say Quinn turned off of Interstate 165 onto a gravel road. Quinn then wrecked the motorbike when he tried to turn left at an intersection, authorities say.

Authorities say Quinn then got up and tried to flee again on the motorbike.

Quinn was arrested and was checked by EMS.

Troopers say Quinn stated he had marijuana in his backpack.

Upon a search, troopers say the backpack contained a pistol and marijuana, along with a straw with white residue. Authorities say Quinn smelled of alcoholic beverages.

Quinn was transported to The Medical Center at Bowling Green. He remains at the Warren County Regional Jail on multiple charges, including speeding 20 mph over the speed limit, first-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle), reckless driving, no registration plates, operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol/substance, third offense, trafficking in marijuana (less than 8 ounces, first offense), drug paraphernalia – buy possess, first-degree possession of a controlled substance (drug unspecified), failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance/security, first offense, and resisting arrest.
