BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing multiple charges after another man was allegedly hit by a vehicle.

According to a uniform citation, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office responded Thursday shortly before midnight for an injury accident off of the 100 block of Cathy Way.

The uniform citation states it was reported over dispatch that a vehicle had run over a male. Deputies say they were advised the vehicle left the scene.

Upon contact, deputies say the victim had serious injuries and had to be flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Deputies say they spoke to someone at the scene, who stated the suspect, identified as Eric Wyrick, 44, of Bowling Green, had been at the residence on Cathy Way.

The uniform citation further states deputies were told Wyrick was seen leaving before someone heard reckless driving in the driveway and saw the victim.

According to deputies, they were told the victim stated he hit the windshield but also had been run over.

Deputies later located and detained Wyrick off of Richpond Road. The suspect vehicle had hand marks on the front of the hood, according to authorities.

Wyrick stated he “did not know he ran over the victim” and that the victim had been trying to break his window, authorities say.

Deputies say they also searched Wyrick and located marijuana.

Wyrick was transported to the Medical Center at Bowling Green for medical clearance and lodged at the Warren County Detention Center.

He is charged with first-degree assault, leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid/assist with death or serious physical injury, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
