Bowling Green man arrested after allegedly attempting to meet female minor at hotel

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is charged after allegedly attempting to meet a minor at a hotel.

The Bowling Green Police Department responded to the Holiday Inn on Wilkerson Trace early Saturday morning to reports of a male allegedly meeting a female juvenile inside a hotel room.

Officers say they observed a group called Bikers Against Predators pointing at a man getting into a vehicle in the hotel parking lot.

The man allegedly attempted to flee the parking lot. After a short pursuit, an officer apprehended the man, who attempted to resist arrest. The suspect was identified as Jasper Smoot, 26, of Bowling Green.

Officers say Smoot agreed to a search of his vehicle. During the search, officers say they located 6.3 grams of marijuana and a scale.

Smoot was taken into custody and is being held at the Warren County Regional Jail.

Smoot is charged with third-degree fleeing or evading police, resisting arrest, second-degree disorderly conduct, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.

Bikers Against Predators is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with the mission to “expose online predators to help spread awareness and education to as many citizens as possible while having these predators face justice for their crimes.”
