Bowling Green man allegedly steals thousands of dollars in merchandise

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is facing charges in connection with shoplifting incidents.

The Bowling Green Police Department says Christopher M. Meredith, 49, of Bowling Green, allegedly switched bar codes and under-ringing items at three local businesses over two months.

Investigators say Meredith stole more than $5,200 in merchandise.

Meredith was arrested on Wednesday and Thursday and was lodged at the Warren County Regional Jail.

He is charged with two counts of theft by deception (less than $10,000.00) and theft by unlawful taking/shoplifting.

The investigation is ongoing.
