Bowling Green man accused of sexually abusing 6-year-old

BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A Bowling Green man is behind bars, accused of sexually abusing a 6-year-old girl.

Jose Lopez, 37, is charged with first-degree sexual abuse on a victim under 12 years old.

According to an arrest citation, the alleged incident occurred sometime between April and October 2018.

The citation reads that earlier this month, the victim told officials at the Child Advocacy Center that Lopez had abused her while she was sleeping in a bed.

On Tuesday, Bowling Green police officers arrested Lopez, who they said denied the accusations.

Lopez is being held in the Warren County Regional Jail without bond.
