Bowling Green man accused of fleeing police while under the influence in Ohio County
HARTFORD, Ky. – A Bowling Green man is accused of fleeing police while under the influence in Ohio County.
According to a release, Hartford Police Officer Jason Davis responded to a report of a reckless driver on Interstate 65 Saturday evening.
An off-duty Kentucky State Police Post 3 trooper reported that the vehicle was driving between lanes, almost striking guardrails and creating a risk of head-on collisions.
Officer Davis located the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop. The driver fled the stop for approximately 1 mile before coming to a stop in the center of the southbound lanes. Davis approached the vehicle, and the driver fled the scene.
The pursuit continued for another mile before Officer Davis blocked the vehicle after it stopped. Officer Davis, along with the off-duty KSP Post 3 Trooper Brent Davis, removed the driver from the vehicle.
The driver was identified as Langh Hau Cin, of Bowling Green.
Cin was arrested and charged with second-degree operating a motor vehicle under the influence (aggravated circumstances) and second-degree fleeing or evading police (motor vehicle). He was lodged at the Ohio County Detention Center.
The Beaver Dam Police Department and the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation.
