Bowling Green man accused of burglarizing home
BOWLING GREEN, Ky.- A Bowling Green man is behind bars, accused of burglarizing a home Wednesday afternoon.
Elijah Shirley, 39, is accused of stealing a 50-inch flat screen TV, a DVD player, a portable heater and two saws from a residence on Payne Street.
According to the arrest citation, a mother and a daughter returned home to find Shirley, who they know by the name “Country,” inside the home.
They say he then told them, “Y’all are not supposed to be here right now,” and ran out of the home.
The alleged victims called police later, saying they saw Shirley enter a residence on Vine Street, according to his citation.
Police found Shirley in the upstairs bathroom during a search and detained him.
He’s currently lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail on a charge of second-degree burglary.
